Forum: etree Subject: Amending terms of upload(ie, permit lossy formats)

I uploaded a show a long time ago when I was a little stingy on the terms of using lossy formats, and I'd like to allow them for it now. The show in question is : http://www.archive.org/details/efo20000601.shnf, but it may apply to others.

A) Is there a procedure by which these shows can have the lossy derivatives created in an automated fashion? And if so, point me in the right direction.
B) If not, is it something an admin can do?

In any case, I'll probably need to modify the "Notes" for the show to specifically include it.

In any case, I am the uploader of the original content, and the band permits lossy derivations, so, shouldn't be an issue, yes?

Hi Will! Good to see you around these parts again...

There's no automated way I'm aware of; each show needs its metadata edited to allow lossies - just a simple Edit item > change the information > allow lossies radio button > submit.

There may be a super-admin tool to do it, but it's nothing I have access to. How many shows are we talking about?

I get no mechanism to edit the metadata on my version of the page for that show. Right now, it's probably just the one show, but now that I've recently moved to the snowy plains of Montana [ Bozeman ], I'm finally chunking through my collection, so I might find a few others where I've been stupidly restrictive. And, yes, it's good to be back, thanks!

Aha - you've likely changed email addresses since then, and no longer have access to those shows. Email etree@archive.org from the new address associated with your account, and we'll switch your shows over for you, which will reenable edit access.
